A young person is smiling while holding a large fish on a boat in Lake Vermillion. They are wearing a red cap and a blue hoodie with a design on it. The background features the serene body of water and a partly cloudy sky, making for an excellent 2024 fishing report photo.

09/09/24 LAKE VERMILION FISHING REPORT: Fall is in the air! We are seeing
some cool weather and some fantastic fishing!
EAST END WALLEYES: Pulling crank baits with Leadcore line continues to be
the best bet for putting walleyes in the boat. Cover water in 20-30 foot mud
basins and you will catch your fish. The water temps are starting to drop, which
means the jig and minnow bite is starting to become a more viable option. Target
deep holes in 25-35 feet of water and keep moving around until fish are located.
WEST END WALLEYES: The Leadcore bite is becoming more of a producer on
the west end. The name of the game is covering water to find active fish. Much
like the east end, covering mud basins in 20-30 feet of water is the best way to
put fish in the boat. Lindy Rigs with a minnow, crawler, or leech are also putting
fish in the boat. Work sand and gravel bars in 12-25 feet to catch these live bait
fish.
SMALLMOUTH BASS: Bass fishing continues to be very good on rock piles and
rocky shorelines. A slip-bobber with live bait is always a great way to target them,
but other baits like Ned Rigs, Swim Baits, Creature Baits, and jerk-baits are
working as well.
The leaves are starting to change and it’s a great time to be at Lake Vermilion!

A smiling trio poses in a fishing cabin with their catch on Lake Vermillion. A boy in a blue hoodie and red hat stands in the front, while two adults in sunglasses stand behind. Several fish lie on a table before them. The wooden windows of the cabin allow light to stream into this 2024 fishing report snapshot.
