8/25/24 LAKE VERMILION FISHING REPORT: The leadcore bite continues to be exceptional with quick limits being the norm!
EAST END WALLEYES: The leadcore bite in 20-30 feet of water continues to be ridiculously good. If you aren’t catching fish, try checking your colors with your line counters to see if you are letting out the correct amount of line.
There is still a good Lindy rig bite on the 17-26 foot sand and gravel bars. You may need to drive to a few different spots to find fish. Once fish are located on your electronics, drop a Lindy Rig with a crawler on them and you should catch fish.
WEST END WALLEYES: The great Leadcore bite has not yet popped on the west end, but there are fish showing up in the 25 to 30 foot mud. Experimenting with leadcore and pulling spinners with live bait through these fish can yield great results.
There are still fish showing up on the 12-20 foot sand and gravel bars in the early morning and late evening hours. Targeting these fish with jig raps, a jig and a minnow, or a Lindy Rig with a creek chub are all good ways to get these fish to bite.
SMALLMOUTH BASS: Bass fishing continues to be excellent! Working rocky shorelines and mid-lake rock piles in 6-15 feet will result in the best catches. Swimbaits, Ned Rigs, Creature Baits, and a slip-bobber with live bait are all great ways to put bass in the boat.
Fishing is good! It’s a great time to be at beautiful Lake Vermilion!
